Quick tour of our apartment

Pictures of our "chic" loft in Palermo Soho ... first floor is the living and dining rooms, plus a kitchenette and a bathroom. Next level up is the bedroom loft area with a shower. Upstairs from that is a roof-top balcony overlooking the street. Also, some views from our second floor windows that open from our living room.

Why BA?

"Buenos Aires. It's an international stew pot ... famous for being the most European of South American cities. Looks like Barcelona, with a little bit of Paris, and a little bit of Rome, but with palm trees." So began Anthony Bourdain's Argentina installment of No Reservations. (Yes, we're unabashed Bourdain-heads. Anyone who defines meals as the glue that holds the fabric of society together, who buys food made at a sidewalk stall by a woman not wearing plastic gloves as she handles the ingredients because that stall feeds hundreds of repeat customers a day, who considers the eating of meat a religious experience while remembering that a living being -- most likely feeling pain and most definitely panic during its last moments of life -- died for that experience, well ... you get it, we're fans.)

Anyway, we were sold. With an hour of watching this episode, we were researching airfares and hotels. Within a couple weeks, both were booked. Now, after nearly three months of daydreaming, we have less than three weeks to go. We can practically smell the steak and Malbec waiting for us.

We'd like to update this blog regularly ... at the very least put up some pictures. We'll see how that goes. For now, I'll get back to brushing up on my Spanish.
